Warrior Nun is an upcoming American fantasydramaweb television series created by Simon Barry, based on the eponymous comic series by Ben Dunn.

A young woman wakes up in morgue with inexplicable powers and gets caught in a battle between good and evil.

Warrior Nun revolves around story of “a 19-year-old woman who wakes up in morgue with new lease on life. She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth.

It was announced that Netflix had given the production a series order for a first season consisting of ten episodes.

Simon Barry was set to serve as showrunner for the series. Barry credited as an executive producer alongside Stephen Hegyes with Terri Hughes Burton serving as an co-executive producer for series. Production companies involved with the series are Barry’s Reality Distortion Field and Fresco Film Services.

Sometime after the series order announcement, it was confirmed that Alba Baptista, Toya Turner, Tristan Ulloa, Thekla Reuten would star in the series.

On April 1, 2019, it was announced by Deadline, that Sylvia De Fanti had joined the cast as series regular .

After waking up in a morgue, an orphaned teen discovers she now possesses superpowers as the chosen Halo-Bearer for a secret sect of demon-hunting nuns.

Ava is recruited by an ancient society of nuns and priests who defend the world from demons. The glowing halo on Ava’s back grants her powers, including ability to phase through solid objects like tables and walls.

Ava meets a host of other kick-ass nuns: Beatrice, Shotgun Mary, Lilith, and Camila. Together, they’re out to stop a woman who has somehow unlocked a portal to heaven and is probably going to use it for big, bad reasons. We’re not sure on the details, but opening portals to ethereal realms can’t be a good thing, right?
