Ramya Krishnan will be portraying the role of late Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa. Titled ‘Queen’, the trailer of the series has been drop over the internet on Thursday which is also the death anniversary of the former CM.
The Queen series is helmed by ace filmmaker Gautham Menon and Prasath Murugesan. This is Menon’s first project for an OTT platform.
The trailer of Gautham Vasudev Menon and Prasath Murugesan’s web series on the life and work of the former chief minister of Tamil Nadu, the late J Jayalalithaa has been released. Ramya Krishnan plays the titular role, perfectly enveloping the character and bringing out her story to the celluloid.
The trailer traces her journey from being forced to drop out of school to joining the South film industry at the age of 16. It gives a glimpse of her struggles, scuffles with her colleagues and finally entering the world of politics. At every stage of life, nothing bogs her down as she continues to prove her mettle from time to time.
Krishnan who shared the trailer on Twitter writes, “Be it her disciple, her will to defy the norm or her innocence in the hard world she lived in was something that appealed to me.”
This story is inspired by the life of former Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa. This story revolves around Shakthi Seshadri. She is very strong and courageous since childhood. She becomes a state topper at the time of school but she starts working due to family’s poor financial situation. Shakthi gets a chance to work in the film industry, she becomes a famous actress. Then she enters in politic. Shakthi gets betrayed at every phase of her life, but leaving behind all this, how she leads a state will be seen in this web series.
